Arizona BJJ Federation Ranking System

By Danny O’Donnell

The AZBJJF has been offering the premier Jiu Jitsu tournaments in the state of Arizona since 2001. Part of establishing a high standard for tournament promotion involves serving both teams and the individual competitors.

The AZBJJF has been working diligently on the individual ranking system, which rewards athletes for 1st through 8th place finishes. A first-place finish earns 90 points, a second place 30 points and a third or fourth place 10 points, fifth through eight earns 5 points.

Additionally, a multiplier is used to further reward results at specific tournaments. Above are the 2018/19 AZBJJF tournaments and their ratings.

The 2018/19 season started with the No-Gi AZ State Championship and The AZ novice Cup tournaments and most recently includes results from the Southwest BJJ Classic. Rankings are currently updated with the results of those tournaments and are categorized by age (adult, master 1, master 2, etc.) and belt level.

Please visit for team and individual rankings and get signed up for the AZ BJJ Masters Cup on December 9th to increase your standing.
