2018 Master’s Cup Results

The 2018 Master’s Cup went down on Sunday December 9th and was the biggest Master’s Cup to date. With nearly 300 competitors it is clear that the Jiu Jitsu scene in Arizona is continuing its upward trajectory across all demographics. Competitors from 38 different teams registered for the event resulting in a total of 234 matches, 103 of which ended in submission!

Some of the standout competitors included Cole Parker (GD Jiu Jitsu Academy), Joe Cronin (Roots BJJ & Fitness), Joshua Spaulding (Sahuarita BJJ), Ryan Lipscomb (Maracaba BJJ), Edward Batross (Maracaba BJJ), Carlos Martinot (Black Flag Jiu Jitsu), Carlos Farias (Carlos Farias BJJ) and Brittany Rice (Lotus Club Fight & Fitness). All of these competitors won gold medals in both their weight classes and the open weight divisions.

The top academies (single physical location) for the Master’s Cup were Maracaba BJJ (1535 points), Lotus Club Fight & Fitness (795 points) and Carlos Farias BJJ (645 points).
