AZBJJL - 2020 Copa Bela Female Jiu-Jitsu Championship

This Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu competition will offer Juveniles, Adults and Masters divisions for Females in the Gi at all belt levels. This event is female only.

COACHES:Black Belt coaches must have an AZBJJL Black Belt ID Card to get into the venue free and to enter the coaches area. FEES:

Early Registration Fee before FRIDAY 07/17/2020 @ 11:59PM - $78

Normal Registration Fee from SATURDAY 07/18/2020 to FRIDAY 07/31/2020 - $88

Late Registration Fee from SATURDAY 08/01/2020 to Monday 08/03/2020 - $100

All registrations must be received by Monday, August 3rd, 2020 by 11:59 pm

SPECTATOR FEES: $10 (Children under 12 is Free) - Attention parents, your child’s registration does not include the spectator fee

Competitor List Release: SATURDAY 08/01/2020

Athlete Correction Deadline: WEDNESDAY 08/05/2020 at 12:00pm (noon Arizona time) - NOTE: No changes, refunds or credits are possible after this deadline.

Schedule and Brackets Release: FRIDAY 08/07/2020

Tournament: SATURDAY 08/08/2020

AWARDS:

The tournament is single elimination. 

Medals will be awarded to the 1st place, 2nd place and 3rd place of each division. 

Athletes will not compete for the third place. Two bronze medals will be given.

The top 5 academies and affiliations in the Adult division will receive team trophies.

WEIGH-INS (NOTE: ALL WEIGHT VALUES FOR CLASSES ARE MAXIMUM ALLOWABLE WEIGHT IN THAT DIVISION!)

Before his/her first fight, the athlete will check his/her weight with the Gi. 

There is only one opportunity to check the weight. If the competitor does not make his/her weight, they will be immediately disqualified. There is no tolerance for weight allowed. 

Please make sure that you are in the correct weight division. You can not change divisions if you do not make your designated division. No changes will be accepted in the tournament day, no refund. (No changes after the Athlete Correction Deadline - NOTE: No changes, refunds or credits are possible after this deadline.)

Example: -107.0 lbs (Rooster) means athletes must weigh 107.0 lbs or below with their Gi on, 107.1 lbs will result in disqualification.

OTHERS:

Athletes will receive a complimentary event t-shirt which they should pick up at the event. All shirts must be picked up at the event’s shirt booth. AZBJJF is not responsible for shipping forgotten t-shirts.

Athletes who place in 1st, 2nd and 3rd in their division will receive a medal at the event. All competitors must wear the GI on the podium. All the medals must be picked up at the event’s podium. AZBJJF is not responsible for shipping medals.

Each team can only have two athletes in the same division bracket (of age/weight/belt). If your team has more than 2 athletes in the same division, the professor needs to email [email protected] prior to athlete’s correction deadline in order to create different teams for the same academy. This rule does not prevent you from registering for the event.

AZBJJF reserves the right to close registration when we reach full capacity, or on the day of the appointed event registration deadline, whichever comes first.

Before each fight, athletes will be asked to show their valid form of photo identification (ID) to the officials. Make sure you have it on hand

It is the responsibility of the athlete to be knowledgeable of the rules and guidelines pertaining to the sport (as outlined in the IBJJF Rules Book). Please refer to the ibjjf.com website for the latest rules.

    16-17 years (In the calendar year you turn 16, you are allowed to compete at Juvenile) Weight value next to name of weight division is the maximum weight with Gi on. Competitor must make the maximum weight for their division or they will be disqualified.

    16 years + Gi colors may be black, white or blue. No combined colors. Weight value next to name of weight division is the maximum weight with Gi on. Competitor must make the maximum weight for their division or they will be disqualified. No refunds
  • Juvenile Girls Open 0 USD
    Athletes can register for the open weight at the podium if they placed in their division.
